A glimpse is all you get
Aug 18, 2009
Seems like my blog has been going downhill lately, not that it has been anything more than what it is right now before. Still. Maybe with time, the force (of blog, lol) within me has dimmed, perhaps even to the point of no return.
But enough ranting about my pathetic blog. Life has been kind to slow down, so much that I have sufficient time to get used to this new pace. College is interesting, even to the point of being fun. Can't help but feel that my own social life has slowed down to a grind though. Maybe I'm missing my old slacker boy days, but oh well, we will all have to grow up eventually, for better or worse, never mind that you might not like the change you will have to face.
I suppose everyone has their own way of dealing with growing up. Mine just involves sulking, contemplating, and commiserating on what has passed and what could have been. In many ways, my life could have been fuller, more interesting and at the very least, way better than the load of bull that it was, and no, I'm not being emo or depressed. Just stating it as is. Okay, well, perhaps comparing my life to a pile of cow manure is pushing it too far, but hush. = I
To date, if there's anything in my life that's worth mentioning, it's probably all those people that I've had the privilege of meeting. (Well, privilege is an understatement really, but I really can't find any other term to word it without risking mushiness.) And so, I wish to dedicate the rest of this tedious post to you, my friends, my acquaintances, and my teachers.
As they say, Life is full of uncertainties. Even though I am a firm believer of the saying that everything that has a beginning, has an end, sometimes, I really wish it wasn't so, but inevitably, it's only a matter of when. Just like the never-ending flow of the sands of time, so are we drifting along wherever life brings us to, and often in the process, away from those whom you have once considered to be your confidantes, that reliable shoulder to cry on; your trusted band of friends, those sets of ears so willing to hear your whining. Thus, the falling outs, the disappearances, the eroding of those bridges that connects us. This happens to all of us, an inescapable truth of Life, for who has never suffered a loss? What I'm trying to say is, sadly, there is no forever. And this is why I wish to cherish these relations by honoring it with this long-winded rant, before I forget.
I will not lie. Even though I am really just indulging that side of me that likes to do pointless stuff through this self-indulgent and pointless essay, what I will be writing from this point on is sincere, and forever damned will my sons and their sons be, if I lie.
Thank you. To Choong Ping, Wesley, Khang Aik, Fei Sin, Qian Qi, Kye Lin, Yeong Bein, Kuo Jian, Weng Cheok, Ivan, Jun Hin, Jun Peng, thanks for being my closest friends. Even though I used to be such an ass being depressed and generally unfit to be your friend, you guys stuck with me, maybe against your better judgement, but I digress. = ].
To Chung Yew, Kok Min, Theng Sheng, Kai Hong, Jit Hao, Guo Hua, Adrian, Bun Hao, Nigel, Kok Hoong, Kai Keat, Wun Hau, Yi Guan, and the NS gals, namely Ke Win, Chit Hue, Dionne, Inez, Sook Mie, Thien Jee, thanks for making life during NS bearable. Without you guys, I'd probably be rotting away in some mental institution already. = ].

You guys were a huge part in the eventual shaping of what came to be the me of right now. = ]
To my primary and secondary school friends and acquaintances, and all others that doesn't fit in the aforementioned categories, sorry for not being able to write down your names. I am only human, but you deserve better than such a slight mention. Still, thank you to all of you too, for you guys played a part in my life as well, and I wouldn't be what I am today without you, no matter how small a part you may have played.
And lastly, my college friends. To Zacque (whom I was with in the same class last year, but did not interacted much with him prior to this), Chee Hoong, Wee Jie, Cristin, Eugene, Leonard, Liang, Li Jun, Kian Seng, Brian, Alvin, Kelvin, Sky, Yan Heng, CK, Kenji, this is, to a lasting friendship, and I apologize if I did or say anything that offended you. Thank you.
And with that, thus ends my lowly tribute. Oh, and a salute of respect to those who read through till the end. =P. Sorry, but old men like me likes to rant on and on and on. Thank you for reading. This will be my last post. For this week maybe. xP Signing off.
